A north Essex school for adults with autism has been celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The Old Rectory at Peldon was opened by Autism Anglia – formerly the Essex Autistic Society – in 1983, with a visit from Princess Anne.
The charity marked the occasion with a traditional summer fete at Peldon village hall, which raised more than £700 for the school.
Campus manager Michelle Smith said: “We had a wonderful day and the weather was great.
“We had the Colne Endeavour band playing for us and we had games, face painting and a raffle – all the traditional summer fair events.”
She explained the money would be used to pay for a new television for the lounge at the school.
