Green bags for garden

Sevenoaks Council has set up a new green waste collection service to help residents dispose of their garden rubbish and help the environment at the same time.

A fortnightly collection service has been set up to take away garden rubbish and compost it.

The compost can then be bought from the council to use in the gardens it came from.

All garden rubbish has to be put in green sacks which are now on sale around the borough at 10 for £7. The price covers the cost of removal and composting.

The bags have to be put out by 7am every fortnight on the same days as the paper collection.
