Cars are being diverted while faulty level crossing barriers are fixed.
The barriers are not working at East Gate, Colchester, and are stuck in the down position.
The problem was reported at 9am today and is expected to be mended by midday.

Brilliant! Now road users are getting a taste of the systemic failings of the rail industry. Enjoy it, us commuters have to put up with it every day.

Too right I'm bitter, £3,600 per year for a sh*te service. You're absolutely right. I could quit work and not commute. Then I'd be even further from being able to afford to buy a house, the rent wouldn't get paid, we'd have no money for food or heating. Eventually I'd become one of those homeless people you ignore on your way to buying a Daily Mail at the newsagents. Do you honestly think I'd commute if I had a choice Roger?

I agree with you, Dr G, Gideon is so greedy. I mean, £3600 a year for the priviledge of commuting to and from London every day so he can claim a massive wage. He is obviously a capitalist pig with no real idea of what life's about. Are you a real doctor? Only I've had this small growth on my little toe for about 3 months. It's hard and scaley. I tried to pick at it with a scissor blade but it refuses to budge. It doesn't hurt as such but if I wear my wolly socks when out hill walking, I find it sometimes goes red and has a slight whiff of boiled ham. Should I be worried? I tried to get an appointment at my local doctors, but they were having none of it. Apparently, I can't see anyone for nearly THREE WEEKS. It's disgusting. Please advise. Can I get it removed or should I do it myself? I have some stanley knife blades and was thinking of chopping it off. What do you think?
