A new open-air festival which organisers hope will be the next Glastonbury is expected to rock the village of Bradfield next month.

The three-day Fulo Festival will be held in the fields surrounding The Strangers Home pub, in The Street, on the weekend of July 25 to 27.

The new festival is set to get pulses racing with bands, comedians, theatre, magicians, jugglers and fire-eaters.

Oh dear! A classic case of NIMBY. It's a one off event. Are people not allowed to enjoy themselves any more?

Its not a case of NIMBYism at all. I live in Colchester. I asked a simple question! Does this sort of event need permission and if so was it granted?
Any anyway who knows if this is going to be a one-off?

I live opposite the park in Wivenhoe where a mini-festival is held each year. Yes I can hear it and yes a lot of visitors arrive and normal village life is 'disrupted'. I love it! There are still people out there prepared to give up their time to provide entertainment. It's about people having fun as part of 'the crowd'. It is well organised, and afterwards the park is left tidier than it was before. Why do people assume 'music + people = trouble' ???

We tried to organise somthing like this in sunny Clacton but guess what ? NO permission, suddenly NO to the land we had been promised and a resounding NO from almost evryone who had to be contacted to make the thing legal.
I can fully understand the NIMBY comment, judging mainly on experience and the the totaly negative "knee-jerk" reaction when anything like this is mentioned.

Apparently they did get permission from Tendring Council for this - as per usual, TDC didn't bother notifying the Parish Council or local residents..

Good on Tim & his wife for bothering themselves to get something going. Btw TDC do not need to notify anyone, they decide on public safety grounds whether it should go ahead.
