A teenager had his car seized as part of a crackdown on boy racers, after driving in an anti social manner.
The 19-year-old, from Harwich, had been driving on the grass near the Dovercourt swimming pool, in Wick Lane, on Saturday.
He had to pay more than £100 to have his car returned to him.
Police in Harwich have been cracking down on antisocial drivers since February.
The increase in young motorists congregating in the town's car parks has prompted the campaign, with officers handing out a number of warnings.
Main troublespots are the industrial estate off Europa Way, Dovercourt, and the Mayflower Primary School car park in Main Road, Dovercourt.
