Colchester, Thorpe-le-Soken: Motorcyclist killed in lorry collision

A man has died after his motorbike was in a collision with an articulated lorry.

Police were called to the incident at about 12.30pm today, outside New Hall in Walton Road, Thorpe-le-Soken.

The 40-year-old man from Colchester, who had been riding a Kawasaki motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is thought he had been riding with a fellow biker in the Clacton and Holland-on-Sea areas earlier that day.

The 59-year-old driver of the grey lorry, who is from Dovercourt, was uninjured.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have seen the two motorcyclists beforehand.

They were both riding orange motorbikes.
