THE curtain has gone up on a Colchester school's annual musical spectacular.
More than 100 students from years seven to 11 have been rehearsing since October for the Gilberd School's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
They hope to score a hit with the Andrew Lloyd-Webber show, which enjoyed a successful West End revival after Essex boy Lee Mead won a TV contest to play the lead.
Teacher Caroline McGrail said: "Putting on a predominantly musical show this year means we can show off the incredible musical talents we have at the school."
