A man was in jail today for making a pornographic film of a teenage girl.
Andrew McGahan met the 16-year-old through an internet chatroom while he was running an agency called Fresh Faced Models.
A court heard how the teenager said she was interested in modelling and the two met up before McGahan began taking fashion shots of the girl.
But Chelmsford Crown Court was told how the pictures he took became more and more explicit and ended with McGahan making an obscene film of the girl.
If he had not filmed what was going on, it would not have been a criminal offence as the girl had consented and she was 16, the judge said.
McGahan, 41, of London Road, Lexden, Colchester, admitted two charges of taking indecent images of children and one charge of inciting a girl aged under 18 to take part in pornography.
He was jailed for a total of 12 months and put on the sex offenders' register for ten years. He was also banned from working with children indefinitely.
A court order banning the Press from naming McGahan was lifted following representations by the Gazette.
Ian Boys, prosecuting, said the offences took place after the teenager and McGahan were in contact through an internet chatroom.
Jamas Hodivala, mitigating, said the teenager and her mother had instigated matters to a certain extent.
Both the mother and daughter had asked for erotic videos to be made for their boyfriends.
"He fell under a spell of madness," Mr Hodivala told the court.
"This was a tragic lapse of judgement. They were not made for commercial gain. They wanted to see what they looked like on video tape."
