Man jailed after assaulting store manager
A man has been jailed after assaulting a supermarket store manager.
Billy Wright, of no fixed address, was jailed for 26 weeks at Colchester Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 9.
Wright entered Morrisons in Witham on Tuesday, August 7, and stole £37.50 worth of cleaning products from the shelves.
After being confronted, Wright assaulted the store manager.
He was handed 26 weeks in prison for actual bodily harm and four weeks for theft. The sentences will run concurrently.
He was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation.
