A MAN has been fined after being caught drinking behind the wheel.
Steven Tulip, 34, was driving a Mercedes in London Road, Stanway, in February when he was caught with a spoon in one hand and container in the other, a court heard. He was not holding the wheel.
At a hearing at Colchester Magistrates’ Court it was proven Tulip, of Waterside Marina, Brightlingsea, could not have had proper control of the car.
He did not attend court but was fined £91 and handed three points on his licence.
He must also pay £120 in court charges.
