A man has admitted two counts of rape and a further charge of sexual assault at Chelmsford Crown Court today.
Wojciech Pietrzyk, 42, of Wickham Crescent, Braintree, admitted the offences when he appeared at court earlier.
The charges relate to the rape of a woman in Riverside Place in St John’s Avenue, Braintree on Sunday, June 10.
Senior Investigating Officer DCI Stephen Jennings of the Serious Crime Directorate said: "The victim in this incident has been through a horrific ordeal and today’s guilty plea will now prevent her from having to go through the further ordeal of a criminal trial."
Pietrzyk has been remanded in custody and will return to court on Monday, August 13.
