BUDDING actors will follow the Yellow Brick Road as Frinton’s Spotlight Youth Theatre Group bring The Wizard Of Oz to the Princes Theatre stage.

The production is a retelling of the 1939 classic film, but with Spotlight’s unique twist on the original movie storyline.

Kayleigh Newman stars as Dorothy as she tries to find her way back home from Oz to Mistley via the Emerald City. As she sets off with Toto (Jasmine Chandler) to see the Wizard, she is joined by the Scarecrow (Connor Johnson), Tinman (Kieran Barlow) and Cowardly Lion (Charlotte Perry).

The show also features Madison Chandler as Sparkles, Jasmine Dunkin as Tiffany, Emma O’Shea as the Wicked Witch, Ellie O’Shea as the Good Witch, Tia Jarvis as Aunt Em, Lucy Ransom as Aunt Harry and the Wizard of Oz, as well as henchmen Josh Stafford and Hayden O’Brian.

And don’t forget the Munchkins who are Gracie Taylor, Abigail Diaper, Lexi Fox, Billy Townsend, Summer Williams, Kia Ridge and Annabelle Price.

The group is based at the McGrigor Hall but now stages its shows at the Princes Theatre after outgrowing the Frinton venue.

The Wizard Of Oz is at the Princes this Sunday at 2.30pm.

Tickets are £9.50 from the theatre box office on 01255 686633.
