A STUNNING display of flowers will be open to the public next week.

St Helena Hospice’s Forget Me Not display will open in Colchester's Castle Park.

More than 1,000 ceramic forget-me-not flowers will be planted in the sensory garden.

Each of the ceramic flowers has been dedicated to a loved one in return for a donation to the hospice.

These donations will allow the charity to continue to help local people face incurable illness and bereavement.

Helen Scatola, individual giving fundraiser, said: “This project has been a long time in the making and we can’t wait to finally see it come to fruition next week.

“The funds being raised for St Helena are vital to the support we give and we are so thankful to everyone who has donated for a flower.

"A donation of just £50 could pay for a support group session.

"These groups provide a place for people with incurable illness to share stories, make friends and talk through any worries they might have.”

St Helena would like to invite anyone who would like to join them to come along to the service of remembrance on Sunday, July 8 at 2pm.

The service will feature uplifting words and music and will be held next to the display behind Hollytrees Museum in Castle Park.

Anyone who has dedicated a flower will then be able to collect it after the service.

For those who have yet to dedicate a forget-me-not flower, there is still time.
