A MAN was threatened with a knife during a robbery at his home in Jaywick.

The man was robbed of packets of tobacco during the incident, which happened in Riley Avenue at about 4.50pm on Saturday.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are appealing for information after a man was threatened with a knife in Riley Avenue.

"A man, described as being in his 20s, walked into the back garden of a property where he spoke to the victim and then followed him inside his home.

"The suspect then held a knife against the victim and demanded money.

"He ran from the scene with packets of tobacco."

The suspect has been described as white, clean shaven, around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 10ins and of medium build.

He wore grey clothing and has brown hair which was visible under the hood of his top.
