A WOMAN was trapped after three vehicles were involved in a smash which closed a road in Clacton.
The accident happened at about 11.30am today on St Osyth Road, near the junction with Warwick Road.
Emergency services - including police, ambulance and fire - were sent to the scene.
St Osyth Road was closed while firefighters and paramedics released a woman from the wreckage.
A brigade spokesman said: "One female was trapped in the vehicle.
"Fire crews worked with paramedics to help release the casualty from the vehicle.
"The casualty was released from the vehicle at 12.15pm and left in the care of the ambulance service."
Two fire crews from Clacton attended the crash.
The incident has now been cleared.
