THE SUN shone during the third Trinity Street Summer Festival.

About 1,500 people flocked to Trinity Street in Colchester for the annual street party, organised by Trinity Traders, a group of the street’s independent businesses.

Michael Topple, of MJ Gillingham Ltd, said: "There was singing from Funky Voices Choir and the band Loxley’s Corner, and dancing from S.O.S. School of Street Dance.

"Alongside the performers there were a great number of stalls, each selling different products, and an enjoyable Completely Daft Dog Show.

"All proceeds from the stall fees are ploughed back into the street, providing flowers, displaying Christmas lights and hosting the Summer Festival and Christmas Market."

A variety of stalls selling handmade crafts, speciality breads and cakes, and offering beauty and hairdressing services, gave the festival a friendly feeling and a marvellous day was had by all involved.

The next event the Trinity Traders are organising is the annual Christmas Market, which will be on December 1 and 2, running from 11am until 3pm each day.

A stall costs £25 per day or £40 for the two days.
