THE future trendsetters of the fashion industry secured another sold-out show with 350 guests in the audience to gaze at their designs.
University Centre Colchester’s third year fashion and textiles students led the show from backstage where they dressed their models like ultimate professionals.
Queues of people waited to be seated inside Firstsite for what was a successful event highlighting not only talent from third year students, but a handful of those in their first and second year of study.
Course leader Val Jacobs was backstage during the show.

She said: “I didn’t see anything but there was plenty of cheering and clapping afterwards, and positive feedback.
“There was a range of people there from management at the college to industry mentors, family and friends so it was buzzing.
“The students were really excited but I have to say, very professional. Everything went on without a hiccup apart from lots of blisters on the models’ feet.
“I was also really impressed with the standard of construction this year, they worked extremely hard.”

Now the department is preparing for Unfinished Business, this year’s summer exhibition for the Colchester School of Art before showing their work in London.
The preview night is on June 14, from 6pm until 9pm, at Sheepen Road, and the exhibition continues from June 15 until 21.
