FAMILIES enjoyed the sun at an annual fete and community fun day.

The fete, supported by Colchester Rugby Club, was held at the club’s grounds in Mill Road.

There were lots of activities to keep visitors entertained all day including a Rugby 7s competition, the Red Devils Parachute Team, inflatables, community stands and craft stalls.

There was also a delicious barbecue served all day as well as a selection of street food including handmade stone baked pizza, paella, and bratwurst sausages.

Proceeds from the day will be split between St Helena Hospice and Colchester Rugby and Football Club.

It is one of the club’s favourite events of the year, where the whole community comes together for a good cause.

Indi Allen, the hospice’s events and challenges manager, said: “It was great to have the weather on our side and see so many smiling faces enjoying the mix of activities.

“The Red Devils were amazing and we had a fantastic day welcoming hundreds of supporters to the event.

“Without the generous support of our community, we couldn’t raise the £6.2 million we need to raise each year to help people facing incurable illness and bereavement.

“We’d like to say thank you to Colchester Rugby Club, public, stall holders, and wonderful volunteers.”
