RESIDENTS had their say on plans for a new Lidl store in Colchester.
The supermarket revealed it is hoping to move into the former Homebase store in St Andrew's Avenue.
A public exhibition was held on Monday so residents could have their say.
Lidl's Regional Head of Property, Colin Rimmer, said: "We would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who attended our public consultation.
"We will now take time to consider all of the feedback we received, with a view to submitting our planning application shortly."
The multi-million pound investment will create up to 40 new jobs. The supermarket will also feature an in-store bakery, customer toilets and parking for both cars and bikes.
It is not known when the store will open if plans are approved.
Colchester is home to another Lidl in Gosbecks Road, Sainsbury's at Tollgate and in Priory Walk, Asda off Turner Road, Tesco in Greenstead Road and Highwoods Square, Aldi in Magdalen Street, Cowdray Avenue and London Road, and Waitrose in St Andrew's Avenue.
