CHILDREN had their first experience with crutches and office equipment as part of a new play scheme.
A Playpod has just been installed at Monkwick Infant School.

The pod has been filled with lots of scrap material to support with children's imaginative play, social interactions and risk taking.

Each class had a session with representatives from Playpod to explore the contents.

Claire Holmes, headteacher at the school which is part of the Sigma Academy Trust, said: "The children absolutely lovely it, they were very excited.

"There was all sorts of play we haven't seen before - the children co-operating nicely and working out how to use the equipment together.
"The buggies were extremely popular as well as the noisy tubes and they enjoyed making dens.

"The Playpod is open every lunchtime to support play and was a great training opportunity for the mid-day assistants."

The school is part of the Sigma Academy Trust.
