TAKE a trip back to the 60s by paying a visit to a brand new cafe... which opens tomorrow.

Back to the 60s, in Priory Walk, is a joint venture between former caretaker Dean Walker and his partner Lynda Street.

The cafe celebrates all things British, and is decked out with a blue, red and white theme.

Gazette:

There is even a vintage Vespa scooter which Dean bought online, and a drum kit in the window.

Dean, who used to work as a caretaker in a school, said it has always been his dream to open a cafe like this.

Gazette:

He said: "I was a Mod in the 70s and this is something I have always wanted to do.

"We see a lot of American diners around so I thought, why not have something British?"

Gazette:

The ground floor level has a scooter theme, while the upstairs celebrates music from the 60s.

Dean said: "We have got screens playing music and videos from that era, we will be serving all-day breakfasts, pie and mash, cream soda floats and other food from that time."

Gazette:

The cafe will be open from 9am until 5pm, seven days a week.

Dean said: "I love everything about the 60s - the music, the clothes, everything."

Dean and Lynda are due to get married in August, and he would love for a 60s scooter to make an appearance!

They wanted to thank D and P Streamline who designed and installed the interior graphics.
