A compassionate youngster donated £70 to help homeless people across the district by making and selling her own crafts.
Lyons Hall Primary School pupil Evie Mills, eight, decided to collect cash for the Salvation Army after seeing homeless people living on the streets of London.
She donated the cash to at the Salvation Army's premises in Rayne Road, Braintree, to grateful long-term volunteer and Bocking councillor David Mann.
Mum Claire Mills said she was "very proud" of her selfless daughter.
Evie said: "I saw a lot of homeless people in London and I wanted to do something to try and help.
"I have been making things and selling them at brownies and my family members have been buying them.
"I got a badge for raising the money for the Salvation Army.
"Next year I am planning to do more fundraising for a cancer charity."
