A MAN has been arrested for dangerous driving after he rammed into a police car during a chase.
Police said they were acting upon intelligence when they asked a car to stop in Old Ipswich Road.
A spokesman said it happened at about 7.40pm yesterday.
They said: "The car failed to stop and drove away from the scene, damaging a police vehicle and another car in the process.
"A 34-year-old man from Colchester then attended custody and he was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and criminal damage.
"He remains in custody for questioning."
