A CONSULTATION on garden communities has been extended, again.
Colchester’s Local Plan Committee has rolled out a consultation on three garden communities.
It started on November 13, and councillors extended the deadline from January 8 to January 22.
It has now been announced the consultation will be extended again, to February 2.
Colchester Council, which is working with Braintree Council, Tendring Council and Essex County Council on the plans, said residents needed more time.
A Colchester Council spokesman said: "We have received comments from a number of people that as the consultation to gauge views on the initial thoughts for the garden community sites closes in the middle of the Local Plan Examination (at Weston Homes Community Stadium) it would be difficult for some to make their views known on the issue.
“As a result we have agreed the consultation will now be extended until February 2.”
Residents are able to take part in the consultation through the council’s website at www.colchester.gov.uk/currentconsultations.
