THE lucky winner of a three-minute trolley dash raced around a superstore collecting £300 worth of food for Christmas.
Linda Watson, of Abbot's Road, Colchester, was the winner of the Gazette’s competition at the Tesco Hythe Superstore this morning.

With a shopping list written in ink on her hands Linda ran down aisle after aisle with the Gazette’s mascot, two elves, Mrs Christmas and Tesco staff who cheered her on.
She managed to fill three trolleys full of meat, vegetables, laundry products and festive food treats before her time ran out.

Linda said she was very pleased to find out she was the winner of the competition on Monday. December 11.
She said: “I wanted to plan my three-minute trolley dash so I wrote a shopping list on my hand .
“I shopped for mostly meat and laundry products and had up to £300 to spend in the three minutes.”

The only items she was not allowed to buy were electric, beauty, alcohol, clothing or tobacco products.
Jo Clarke, Tesco community champion, said: “We came up with our own version of supermarket sweep as we thought it would be great for one of our customers to do and enjoy.

“I think it was absolutely amazing for us to give the products away.
“It took place just in time for Christmas.”
