The founder of a new scheme set up to offer homeless people warm clothing this winter says she has been amazed by the support offered by the community.
Aynur Nicholls, of Colchester Road, Halstead has overseen the introduction of a rail where members of the public can leave unwanted coats, scarves, hats and shoes.
Anyone in need of the items left on the rail can then take them and use them to stay warm.
The rail has been stationed outside Barclays bank on the High Street for a week and is already full of warm clothing kindly donated by the public.
Ms Nicholls said: “It has been an amazing response from the Halstead community.”
