THE latest primary school league rankings have been released.
A number of schools in the Halstead area have achieved above the national average for data relating to year six SATS results from the 2016/2017 academic year.
Ridgewell Church of England Primary School was statistically the most successful primary school in the region with 86 per cent of students working at the expected level in reading, writing and maths.
Other schools who were among the most successful included Colne Engaine Primary School who achieved 80 per cent, Steeple Bumpstead Primary School with 79 per cent, and St Andrew’s Primary School in Bulmer with 75 per cent.
In total, 11 primary schools in the Halstead region achieved above the national average of 61 per cent.
Six schools were unable to match that figure however, with Earls Colne Primary School falling 1 per cent short with 60.
St Margaret’s Church of England school in Topplesfield has achieved the lowest percentage out of the Halstead schools with 33 per cent of students hitting the national target in reading, writing and maths.
Both St Margaret’s and Ridgewell primary schools have been contacted for comment.
