A TEENAGER has told how she was groped by a stranger who grabbed hold of her breast in the street.

The 18-year-old was walking across the zebra crossing in St Andrew’s Avenue in Colchester towards Waitrose when a man held out his arm to block her and her sister.

Both tried to dodge him but he grabbed the woman’s breast over the top of the jumper she was wearing and squeezed it.

The woman said she was stunned at what had happened.

She said: “It shocked both me and my sister.

"He let go quickly and carried on walking a few steps then stopped and turned around.

“I just froze and turned around so me, my sister and this man were now all looking at each other.

“I was shouting and swearing at him in shock and anger.

"I don’t even know him and he’s inappropriately grabbed my breast.”

A bus called up nearby and the woman said she was hoping some of the passenger will be able to come forward and help police with their investigation.

She added: “People on the bus were pointing so I’d hope one of them will come forward with evidence.

“After I shouted at him he said he was sorry but it doesn’t mean you can grab young girls.

“My sister pulled her phone out and held it up to take a picture he ran down Ipswich Road towards the bottom of East Hill.”

The victim has now reported the incident, which happened between 6pm and 6.30pm on Monday, to the police.

The man is described as white, roughly six feet tall, medium build, with some missing teeth. He was wearing a bright blue jacket- possibly a raincoat – with the hood up, jeans and white trainers.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
