CHRISTMAS came early for a mum who was the lucky winner of a £10,000 rollover jackpot.

Michelle Macrae, from Mistley, could not believe her luck when she was announced as the winner of the Your Hospice Lottery draw this month.

Michelle, an office manager of a Fordham engineering company, said she is looking forward to spending her winnings on a little pampering and would like to put some money aside to take her two-year-old son Arlo to Lapland when he is older.

She said: "I’m still completely in shock from last week when I got the call to say I had won. I had no idea the rollover had been going for so long.

"The money I have been donating every month since 2012 is just part of my monthly outgoings - I never envisaged winning that amount of money, and what a perfect time of year to win £10,000 – it’s amazing."

Michelle has been playing the lottery for over five years which raises vital funds for St Helena Hospice.

Michelle first joined Your Hospice Lottery following a conversation with a St Helena Hospice fundraiser, who actively promotes the lottery in the local area.

She said: "When a small charity is on your doorstep I think you should support them if you can in any way shape or form.

"I would say to anyone who gets to know about the lottery, just go for it and sign up.

"It’s just a small amount to give and makes such a massive difference."

Alex Howe, head of Lottery, said: "This is a really special win for Your Hospice Lottery as it is the highest ever jackpot prize given away in the history of the draw."
