A MAN appeared in court charged with attacking two revellers with a rolling pin who mistakenly knocked on his door thinking it was the entrance to a strip club.
Justin March, 42, denied two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
Ashley Petchey, prosecuting said: “The complainants were knocking on the door in St Botolph’s Street - they were thinking it was a gentleman’s club called Climax.”
He said March answered the door and was “abusive” and hit both men with the rolling pin.
“The defendant answered the buzzer and was abusive.
“He came down with a rolling pin and hit both of them and a fracas continued for two or three minutes.”
March, now living in Inglis Road, Colchester, denied the charges.
The incident was alleged to have taken place in October.
He was granted unconditional bail until a hearing in January at Ipswich Crown Court.
