TWO men and one woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed and later died. 

Police have launched an investigation after the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, was stabbed in his chest and stomach.

The man was found at around 5.15am on Friday morning at Barker Close in Lawford, Manningtree.

He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was critical but he later died.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 5.23am to an incident on Barker Road, Lawford.

"A response crew and officer were sent to the scene.

"We treated a man, believed to be in a 30s, for stab wounds to his chest and stomach."

A 44-year-old man, 40-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman have now been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

The investigation continues to determine how the man became injured and officers have cordoned off the area.

Police are now appealing for information.
