PUBLICANS are throwing an extra World AIDS Day event with live music from Cu’da Groove.

Joe Hanrahan, who runs the Old New Inn Pub, added his venue to Colchester’s first town-side observance of World AIDS Day.

The band will perform the best of fancy dance and club classics from the 1970s to the present day.

Landlord Joe said: “We have a diverse clientele in this pub which is why it’s so important for us to support causes like this.

“It’s not just about us as a pub, lots of our locals are part of the LGBT community as well so it’s a natural evolution.”

“We helped out with Pride this year and raised a couple of hundred pounds for Outhouse East so hopefully we can achieve the same atmosphere.”
