THERE has been a crash near a station roundabout in Colchester.

The crash happened about 3pm, near the North Station roundabout.

Firefighters were called by the ambulance service to assist at the scene.

One car was involved and fire crews used cutting equipment to remove the roof so that two people could be rescued. 

The casualties were left in the care of the ambulance service at 3.20pm.

They treated two patients with neck and back pain. They were taken to Colchester General Hospital for further care.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or serious.
