THE popular Secret Vintage World is set to return with a pop-up sale in Colchester town centre.

The annual two-day Christmas event takes place on Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3, at the creative business centre, at 37 Queen Street.

Now in its fifth year, the event attracts hundreds of vintage shoppers.

Organiser Janine Tompkins said: “The building fits perfectly with our ethos, being at the heart of Colchester in a building which is beautiful and filled with local creatives and we love showcasing the unusual buildings and using them in a different way.

“Additionally, hosting a department store promoting purely indie businesses from the region makes me very proud as it really is supporting out town, its businesses and our residents.”

Secret Vintage World is also working with designer Michelle Rushbrooke, from Hidden in the Rafters, who will be dressing especially for the event.

There will be a changing room, a gift wrap service as well as a personal shopper for anyone who needs advice on vintage clothing.

Organisers are raising money for Autism Anglia.

A charity spokesman said: “As a local independent charity, we love to collaborate with local businesses to raise funds and spread acceptance of autism.

“We are really excited to be teaming up with the Secret Vintage Fair at this amazing venue and are really looking forward to the day.”

The pop up store will include live music and entertainment from the Knightingales, Abba’s Voulez Vous, Lianna Haynes and Plastik VIP.

Father Xmas is also invited.

Entry is £2 and the store is open between 10.30am and 4pm.

The event will be launched with a cocktail party on Friday, December 1, at 8pm.

Entry is £5 and the launch, for people aged over 18, runs between 8pm and midnight.
