PUPILS at a primary school have played a starring role in a unique aerial photoshoot.

Colne Engaine Church of England Primary School, which is based on Green Farm Road, became live sculptures for a day on Friday.

The pupils grouped together and created sculptures which represented the school's ethos and core values.

Photographs of the sculptures were then taken from the air via a drone.

Among the shapes created were a cross, heart and question mark.

Headteacher Julie Sarti said: "We were thrilled with these breathtaking photos that capture what a beautiful setting we have and the core values and vision that drive all that we do.

"We were delighted with the great problem solving skills our pupils had too, as making these symbols was quite a tricky task with a hundred excited children.

"Our aim was to encourage our children to reflect on the things that we think are important elements of our school.

"We are a church school and we want our children to know that they can make a difference in the world, with responsible and thoughtful actions."

Colne Engaine school will be hosting an open morning on November 2, running from 9.30am until 11.45am.

The event will offer prospective pupils and their parents the chance to learn more about what the school has to offer.
