A HOST of spooktacular events are coming to Maldon and the Dengie this half term.

Little ones can take part in a range of scary-themed events in the lead up to Halloween.

The fun kicks off at Southminster Library in Queenborough Road, Southminster, next Saturday with spooky Halloween crafts.

Suitable for children aged three and over the free event will see youngsters take part in fangtastic arts and crafts.

It takes place from 10am to midday.

Next Monday Maldon Library will hold its Dare to Scare event from 2pm to 3.30pm at the base in White Horse Lane.

The free event will keep young ones entertained with Halloween themed crafts, a fiendish quiz trail and spooky stories.

Children are invited to come in fancy dress.

Next Wednesday Burnham-on-Crouch & District Museum is hosting a children’s Halloween fun day from 10.30am to 4pm.

There will be a host of fun activities along with tombola, gift stall and refreshments.

Tropical Wings Zoo in South Woodham Ferrers will be hosting a half term H’owl’oween event.

It takes place from next Saturday until the following Sunday when there will be Halloween crafts, ghoulish games, bugs and beasts and pumpkin carving.

Marsh Farm County Park will also be putting on a week of activities with their Wizards and Witches event.

It will be held from next Saturday until Tuesday October 31 from 10am to 5pm each day.

Visit the pumpkin patch and carve yours into a monster masterpiece in the Carving Cavern.

The Museum of Power will be hosting a day of spooky science fun next Sunday.

There will be a science and magic show from the museum’s own Mad Professor, interactive experiments, crafts, spooky storytelling and live creepy crawlies to hold.
