SWARMS of gamers tried their hand at some classics at a fair dedicated to gaming.

The first Colchester Games Fair was held at Colchester Arts Centre and it included demonstrations, a bring and buy sale and roleplay.

Traders such as Paranoid-Miniatures, Cymbeline Games and Phoenix Painting came to showcase their games and children loved the DC Universe Miniatures Game, which involved their favourite superheroes.

Keen gamer Rob Saunders, who organised the event, said: “It was packed all the way through, it was much busier than what I was expecting.

“The bring and buy sale was really popular, you couldn’t see over the pile of board games people had brought to sell.”

A live role play game was performed on stage and tables were set out for groups to play their own games.

Mr Saunders said: “It’s the first time I have done an event like this, I would love to do it again and people have been asking when the next one is.”

The bring and buy sale raised £80 for the Magic Moments charity, which supports children with life limited illnesses.
