Essex Police has applied for an Indian restaurant in Great Baddow to have its licence reviewed after they raised concerns over illegal workers.
The Baddow Tandoori, in Church Street, which has been rated as one of the ten best curry houses in Chelmsford by TripAdvisor, is having it's licence reviewed by Chelmsford Council on Monday September 18 following an application by Essex Police
If the application is successful, the restaurant could be shut.
Concerns came after an Immigration Officer found somebody to be working on the premises without the legal right to be employed in the UK on June 14 this year.
Essex Police have submitted the application on the grounds that they have breached one of the four licesning objectives - the prevention of crime and disorder.
The Baddow Tandoori has been contacted for comment.
