Tudor times were brought to life as part of open days at a historic Maldon building.
The Moot Hall opened its doors for the heritage open days at the weekend.
More than 350 people walked through the doors across Saturday and Sunday.
Visitors were shown all three floors of the 600-year-old building and were able to go up to the roof where they can take in the 360 degree view across the town.
On Saturday re-enactors helped to recreate Tudor life as Elizabeth I and two of her courtiers played games and talked to youngsters.
In 1579 the Tudor queen visited the town and the Maldon Borough Corporation purchased a sturgeon as a gift for her.
Maldon mayor Jeanette Stilts was on hand in the mayor parlour with the ancient town mace on display.
People could meet the mayor and ask questions about her role.
The Friends of the Moot Hall Chair Marie Belsey, and the Moot Hall Heritage Manager said: "It was really lovely to see so many people come through our doors, with lots of engaging questions about its history, spanning nearly 600 years, from the D'Arcy's to the Friends of the Moot Hall, and the kids really enjoyed interacting with Elizabeth I."
