AN unconscious man who came to and abused the paramedics treating him was fined £110.
The ambulance service received an anonymous 999 call about Christopher Cooper, 34, who was lying on the floor outside Marks & Spencer in Pier Avenue, Clacton.
Lesla Small, prosecuting, told Colchester Magistrates’ Court that Cooper began getting abusive and aggressive with the medics, who could smell alcohol on him.
She said: “He made lewd comments to the young females before urinating.
“He was arrested and told officers during his interview he drinks in the region of 12 cans of alcohol during a morning session, and that was the reason for him being drunk.”
Cooper, of no fixed abode but from Tendring, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
His family is helping him to go to rehabilitation for his alcohol problems.
Representing himself, Cooper apologised to magistrates.
He said: “I’m really sorry for what I’ve done.
“I apologise.”
