The grieving dad of tragic Amy Vigus today appealed to schools to better educate youngsters about the dangers of recreational drugs.

Kervin Vigus, 49, spoke out after his family released a highly-emotional video tribute to Amy and warning about taking drugs on Facebook.

Former Gilberd School pupil Amy, 20, died in hospital earlier this month just three days after taking a pill that she thought had contained MDMA - known as ecstasy - but which proved fatal to her.

Mr Vigus spoke after dozens of comments were posted on Facebook in reaction to his family's video about his daughter's death.

He said: "We've got comments from teachers that are saying this should be in school.

"Our message is out there to shock people and the amount of mums that are tweeting their children to watch this.

Gazette:

"Everything we want to say is on our Facebook page, it's all on there in the video."

Abby, Amy's sister, added: "It's all raw - we know this video is raw and it's mean to be raw, its emotional."
