TRIBUTES have been paid to a woman who died following a fatal crash in Cressing.

Police were called to a collision involving a Honda motorcycle, Mercedes Sprinter van and Ford Transit in Ashes Road just before 1pm on Monday.

Joanne Vincent, 47, from Braintree, who was riding as pillion passenger on the bike died at the scene.

A man in his 50s suffered serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Her daughter Toni Vincent and son Shane Vincent said in a statement: “In loving memory of Joanne Vincent; a beloved daughter, sister, wife and mother-of-two who loved her dogs and family above all else, and would put their needs above her own, always.

“She had a passion for gardening, rock music and motorcycling with her husband.

“We would like to take the opportunity to thank all emergency services and members of the public for their assistance at the scene who, despite their best efforts, could not save her.

“We would also like to thank all the staff at Addenbrooke’s Hospital for the ongoing care that our dad is still receiving.

“Mum was tragically taken from us too soon, was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by all.”

Two men from Colchester aged 44 and 70, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving, following the crash.

They have since been released under investigation.
