THREE children suffering from life-changing conditions are set to benefit from a funeral director’s annual golf day.

Daniel Robinson and Sons last year raised £40,000, including £24,000 for Halstead’s Lenny Hume to pay for two years of physiotherapy.

This year, three youngsters suffering from cerebral palsy in their lower limbs, similar to Lenny, have been selected as the main beneficiaries.

Daniel Robinson and Sons, which has a base on Trinity Street, Halstead, is hoping to raise enough to improve their mobility through access to privately funded intense physiotherapy, having a huge effect on their lives, as well as their families.

The three youngsters selected are 12-year-old Lyncoln Street, of Halstead, Summer Andrews, five, of Braintree and seven-year-old Aiden Thomas of Haverhill.

Bob Wright, of the funeral director’s Halstead branch, said: “We are delighted to try and help three more hugely deserving youngsters.

“We couldn’t have asked more from last year, and the support we managed to give Lenny was great.

“Now we can try and help three new youngsters, and give them the support they deserve.”

Lyncoln attends Kids Physio Works in Copford every two weeks with money raised by his family, and savings from birthdays and Christmas.

But Lyncoln’s progress could be enhanced with the opportunity of more intense physiotherapy, increasing his independence and taking his dream of being able to walk a step closer.

Little Summer met Daniel Robinson and Sons alongside her twin sister and two brothers, and has the hope of getting up on her feet just like her siblings.

A determined youngster, Summer constantly pushes herself in physio which her family pay for through fundraising, but once again, being able to attend physio more regularly would have a huge benefit to the whole family.

Aiden, another twin, has undergone surgery to improve his condition and is now working towards increasing mobility in his hip and improve his strength.

The youngster dreams of playing with his brother Owen, while his dad has previously raised funds through running marathons and an iron man challenge.

A donation page will be set up through drobinson.co.uk shortly.

This year’s golf day is set for September 13.
