Here are five things going on in the district this weekend.

Fire station will open to public

A FIRE station will be open to the public this weekend.

Tillingham Fire Station, St Nicholas Road will be open on Saturday throughout the day.

There will be a chance to meet firefighters and have a go on some of the equipment.

The day begins at 10am.

Jumble trail

A JUMBLE trail will be taking place in Tollesbury on Saturday.

Tollesbury Juniors Football Club will be running the trail, with maps available from the Green Grocer Van in advance or on The Square on the day.

Stall holders are welcome, with a fee of £5 in advance.

People can follow the map around the village to bag a bargain and all funds raised to towards the football club.

It takes place from 10am to 2pm.

Charity garden party for book

A CHARITY garden party will be held in Maldon on Saturday.

Popular Maldon sailor Dave Selby will be welcoming people to the Maldon Yacht Club on Saturday for book signings, cream teas, a garden party, BBQ, bands, music, dancing, games and stalls.

People can attend from 4.30pm on Saturday.

Flower show coming to village

A FLOWER show will be held in Tillingham this weekend.

The Tillingham Flower Show will be held at West Field on Saturday with various attractions including a Mammoth Jackstock, dog display, dog scurry, pony rides, belly dancing, tug of war and scarecrow competition.

The show costs £2 for car parking and will begin at 2pm on Saturday.

Fun day for families planned A FUN day will be held in Maldon on Saturday.

The West Maldon Community Centre on Sunbury Way will be holding a fun day at their centre on Saturday from 1pm.

There will be bouncy castles, slides and stalls.
