A STUDENT has been awarded three trophies for her commitment to bowling.

Danielle Topham, 12, who is a member of Madison Heights Tenpin Bowling Club, has been playing over the course of the last year in the JTE tour, doing a number of events.

In June 2017, she competed in the NAYBC Classic Singles Competition at Tolworth playing on the Saturday and getting through to the final on the Sunday.

She then achieved 2nd place in her division. She also competed in the Triple Crown Trials Under 16 category at Poole having qualified in the JTE Tour at 20th position. After playing 16 games, she moved up to 12th position.

The first six players qualified to play for England. Last Sunday she participated in the British Youth Open Championships which were held in Norwich.

Danielle achieved third place in the junior category in singles, doubles and all events.

Danielle’s grandmother Diane McCallum said: “Danielle is absolutely thrilled with her trophies, she’s worked so hard.

“She intends to participate in the JTE tour for 2017-2018 which commences in September 2017 and hopes to improve on this year's ranking.”
