A FORMER Colchester student has risen to stardom as the newest addition of Les Miserables.

Colchester Institute degree student, Karis Jack, will be at the Queen’s Theatre playing the role of Eponine.

Karis graduated from the Musical Theatre course in 2012 and has also performed lead roles in several major productions in London, including the West End production of Urinetown and the 2015 UK Tour of Hairspray.

She said: “Last month, I did my first performance as Eponine, and the feeling as I came off- stage was incredible.

“I remember exactly how emotional I felt, it was as if everything I had worked for all those years at my drama school and at University Centre Colchester was being presented to me, before my very eyes.

“It all came together at the show, I’ve done a few shows in the last few years but I never thought I would be a part of this show.”
