Here are five things that are going on in the Maldon district over the next week.
Orchestra show
AN ORCHESTRA will performing in Maldon on tomorrow as part of the town’s festival.
Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial by Jury will be at St Mary’s with Mundon Church on Friday from 7.30pm.
The original performance featured in the very first Maldon Festival in 2008 and is being revived for the tenth anniversary season.
It will feature soloists from City Lit Opera, accompanied by the orchestra of Hand Made Opera.

Maldon Festival
A SINGER will perform in Maldon tomorrow as part of the Maldon Festival.
Singer-songwriter Joe Stilgoe will perform with friends at the Taoist Tai Chi Centre on London Road in Maldon from 7.30pm.
Joe is one of the country’s favourite singer-songwriters, performing a programme of classic jazz songs alongside his own pieces.
His band includes Tom Farmer, who has previously appeared at the festival.
Tickets cost £12 with £10 for concessions.

Acoustic session
AN ACOUSTIC session will be held in Tollesbury tomorrow.
The acoustic music session is for anyone who wants to perform or listen. Beginners or experienced musicians are welcome.
Strings, keyboard, woodwind and percussion will all be featured.
The £2 entry includes tea, coffee and biscuits.

Cheese and wine
ENJOY cheese and wine at a tasting session tomorrow.
Tollesbury Pavillion in Elysian Gardens will hold a cheese and wine evening from 7.30pm.
There will be three red and three white wines from the “Old World”.
Held at the Rec, tickets available from Helen Clyde or in the school library.

Open gardens
GARDENS will be open to the public tomorrow.
Beeleigh Abbey Gardens in London Road, Maldon will be open to the public from 10.30am to 4.30pm Friday
