A POPULAR pub is on the look out for a gin-ius mixologist who can design a new cocktail to be added to the drinks menu later this year.
The Yew Tree Chef and Brewer, in The Causeway, Great Horkesley is searching for a drunks expert who knows their Gordon's from their Hendricks to enter the competition to create a new gin-based tipple.
As well as the prestigious title of the pub's first ever gin-ius, the winner will bag themselves a year's supply of gin and £500 in cash.
General manager of the pub Eugene Mcgivern said he was looking forward to sampling his customer's creations.
He said: "Gin is undergoing a huge revival and many of us would agree that a G&T is our tipple of choice.
"But while we might think we’re a gin expert, how many of us can actually claim to be a fully-fledged gin-ius?
“We’re putting this to the test by challenging our guests to share what makes them the ultimate gin-ius.
"Whether you prefer a slice of lime, a dash of cordial or a splash of fruit liqueur, tell us why you think you deserve to be our resident gin advisor and you could bag yourself the ultimate gin-lover’s prize - as well as the title of Chef and Brewer’s first official gin-ius.
“We can’t wait to put Great Horkesley’s gin-eral knowledge to the test.”
To enter the competition entrants need to log on to chefandbrewer.com/gin-ius/competition and explain why they think they could be in with a chance of winning.
Entrants close on Monday, August 7 and the chosen winner will need to be available in the week commencing Monday, August 28 to create their premium gin cocktail.
