A HEARTBROKEN family have paid tribute to a "beautiful son" who "will never be forgotten" after he died in a two-car crash in Thorrington.

Shane Scott was killed when two cars collided in Tenpenny Hill, on June 20, just nine days after his 21st birthday.

His family have come forward to pay tribute to the "cheeky chap."

In a statement, the family said: "He was a loving, bubbly, cheeky chap who was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and devoted boyfriend.

"Shane loved his sports, especially playing rugby and boxing and he had a keen interest in cars.

"His happy-go-lucky nature meant he had a huge set of friends, who we know will miss him.

"Even though his life ended prematurely, Shane was still able to fit many fantastic memories into such a short space of time.

"We know his friends will be smiling remembering some of those happy times while reading this.

"Our beautiful son will never be forgotten by anyone who knew and loved him.

"Safe journey son."

Kyle Collier, from Colchester, was a passenger in the car driven by Scott and suffered serious injuries.

18-year-old Kyle was recently placed in an induced coma at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Anita Sparrow, a family friend, has set up a fundraising page to support him and his family.
