POPULAR funnyman Jason Manford is set to take the stage in Colchester's Charter Hall.

His new show, 'Muddle Class', will feature fresh material focused on the 36-year-old's working class upbringing and how he has now become middle class.

Tickets are now on sale for the event, on Friday, October 12, 2018.

The Salford comedian said: “Somebody said to me on my Facebook fan page: 'It's been ages since you've toured'.

"I thought 'no way, it was last year wasn't it?’

"Anyway, long story short, they were right, it was years ago!

"I just got fooled 'cos I've been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on Dave ja vu 13 times a day.

"So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it's changed over the years, how the world has changed and how my parents haven't changed a bit."

Paul Smith, Colchester Council leader, added: “It is very encouraging to see another big comedy name back at Charter Hall.

"I’m delighted to see our venue welcome Jason as part of his 2018 tour. This comes off the back of consecutive Jimmy Carr live shows, firmly putting the venue on the comedy tour map.”

Tickets, which are £27.50 plus booking a fee, are available at www.colchester-events.co.uk/whats-on or the Charter Hall box office on 01206 282020.

Doors open at 7.30pm and a bar will be available.
